New Media Camp Chicago

A place for content creators

NMCC logo animation

Here's something I threw together to be included videos and websites. I used a list of disciplines from Podcamp AZ we can add more or change names. This is just an example.

This is set up for HD but I can make it any rez and any video format. Just give me a list of what everyone wants to be able to include in their podcast or website.

When we have something that reflects what we want I'll make it so you can download them from my site.

Those are great ideas! It really gives it more direction and a message. I haven't had a chance to come back to it but I will in the next few days.

Who can do some sound effects or music for it?

I'm a little late to the game here, Sean, but it looks amazing. If you threw that together I can't imagine the stuff you're looking at by the end of each day.

I have a suggestion towards trying to come up with more of a narrative.

Something like:

we
aim
to
build
and
sustain
chicago's
growing
new
media
community

A big goal for the advertising stuff is letting people know that all skill levels are welcome. Experts will take away something valuable, as will beginners. This is rough but something like:

experts
say
podcast,
twitter,
blog
beginners
say
audio,
video,
text.
let's
agree
we
all
can
learn

Yeah sorry the U was my attempt at being hip...

I really like the idea of starting off slower and speeding up. I'll work that in for sure. That will look even cooler when there is sound to emphasize the point.

First of all, it looks damn good for something just "thrown together."

My thoughts which you of course can feel free to totally ignore without hurting anyone's feelings:

I could actually see it starting out slightly slower than the speed it's at now, speeding up really fast, and then slowing down again at the end to display "you." It seems long, and lacking variation.

Also, wondering what the significance is of using "U" rather than "you." Yes, that's how we say it in text messages these days, but in this context it seems as if it's trying to communicate something, though I'm not sure what - and I end up confused.

Dorothee, Here's the list I was working from:
blogging
print
tv
radio
mobile
twitter
interactive
advertising
actors
U (you)

Yeah I think Video and Web Video could go in there. If there are things I left out or I should use a different word let me know. It's easy to add new words.

Matt, Yeah it needs a little something to kick it off right at the beginning so that won't be a problem. Maybe you could do some music and a V.O. of some kind or if someone else wants to do the V.O. that's cool too. That way this tag could be used on Audiopodcasts as well.

Awesome, love it! You think we should stick in "video" or "web video"? Or is "TV" enough?
